The ASEAN Secretariat invites
Indonesian citizens and ASEAN Nationals

with permanent resident status in Indonesia

to apply for the following positions

at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta





TECHNICAL OFFICERS (TOs)



TOs are specialist staff with University Degrees in their respective areas of expertise. They provide technical inputs and management support with respect to coordination and implementation of decisions made by the authoritative committees in ASEAN. TOs are also required to undertake research work, attend relevant meetings here and overseas, perform protocol duties and carry out secretarial tasks. They are also expected to initiate necessary action to manage aspects of their areas of expertise under their charge.



We are now seeking qualified candidates for 4 (four) such positions in the following areas :



Economics or International Finance : Minimum 3 years experience in government or international organizations involving economic or financial policy-related research.


Statistics : Minimum 3 years experience in undertaking statistical analysis in government or international organizations, familiarity with macroeconomic statistics, and statistical software packages such as SAS, SPSS, STATA and E-views.


Information and Communication Technology (ICT) : Minimum 3 years experience in ICT work and project implementation and minimum 2 years experience in managing web-based applications.


Legal : Minimum 5 years experience in legal drafting and the application of principles and concepts of legal practices in international trade law, and preferably having experience related to international economic policies.




TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (TAs)



TAs are support staff with University Degrees in their respective areas of expertise. They provide administrative and technical backing for a variety of activities such as organizing and servicing of meetings, implementing work programmes, handling records and other secretarial work and performing protocol duties. They assist in doing research and performing relevant paper work after decisions are made.



We are now seeking qualified candidates for 2 (two) such positions in the following areas:



Industrial Services : Minimum 3 years experience in preparing relevant papers and knowledge of WTO and APEC trade, services and investment issues.


Library : Minimum of 3 years experience in document management and catalogue system and familiarity with computer-based documentation.




General Qualifications :



Able to work as a team in a multicultural environment;
Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (written and oral);
Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft office tools;
Able to multi-task and work irregular hours;
Able to travel, as and when required.


Selected candidates will receive an attractive package of salary and benefits which include transportation allowance, reimbursement for medical expenses and good performance bonus.



The starting salary for TOs is usually Rp.5.000.000 and for TAs Rp.3.500.000. In the case of TO (Legal), the starting salary is Rp.8.000.000.
